The gospel is not, Jesus will save you IN your sins. The gospel is that Jesus will save you FROM your sins. Many Christians are preoccupied with arguing over doctrine and denominations but do not live like Jesus. Isn't this what puts people off religion?

We are to be immersed in Jesus. Water baptism symbolizes that a person no longer depends on the world for security, significance, & happiness-but on Jesus for these things.

Carnality is trying to get from others what we can only get from our Maker. It creates greed and selfishness. God has a cure, but it requires not just faith but action.

We are not meant to be weighed down and be anxious about our responsibilities. Instead we are to commit them to God and let Him take care of them-which gives us rest and peace about them. We're to not take them back to manage them ourselves.

Many scholars, historians, and politicians agree-the evidence argues that Jesus died and became alive again. It's a fact-but does it influence your life?

Were the appearances Jesus made to people after his resurrection from the dead hallucinations by those claiming to have seen him? This talk addresses that issue.

If Jesus destroyed death once, then he can destroy it however often he wants and that means he is alive today. What does that mean for us?

The astronauts have freedom from many things that tie them down on earth. They give up some personal freedom to receive this new freedom. Could you be free from the weights that tie you down and make life heavy?

We can live relying on money in our bank accounts and thrills from beautiful sunsets. But they never satisfy us. What would it be like if we relied on the one who made the banks and the money and the sunsets?

There are crisis moments in life when we are entirely beyond our resources to meet the situation, and yet from without us comes a power that meets the crisis completely -the source of this is the resurrection power of Christ from the dead.

What is the meaning of the phrase ' The New Birth - to be born again?' Just as there is a birth into the physical world and we learn to relate to it, so too there is also a birth into the Spiritual world, but we can't enter it just by thinking about it.

How do you come into a relationship with God? 1) Listen to what your conscience has been saying. 2) Confess -agree with what it is saying against yourself. 3)Admit you can't change, and ask God to change you and make you a child of God.

We want to control everything in our lives- be the 'God' of our life. Problems show us that something is wrong in our life. The solution is to acknowledge that God is God, allow Him to comment on our lives, and act on the things that need changing.

There's lots of evidence of people being enslaved to things, which they'd rather not be. Seems like there are 2 possible versions we can imagine for our life- the one we know, and the one we'd like. How can we choose a different version of our life?

Asking forgiveness is hard, repeatedly- is numbing. What's needed is a change. For us individually, a willingness to change makes all the difference. We appreciate the change we see every springtime, and it's transforming. Springtime in our hearts.

What have you done in the last year, or decade? It's worth considering, we've all made choices and they've lead to different places. Take time to consider your situation before God. You can decide to live guided by God - a new beginning.

Broken New Year's resolutions are beautiful gifts from the Father to show us where our lives are still in our own control. It is vital to not be passive and accept our failings. Although we can only succeed with God's help, we need to act.

When we profess what we believe, we bring into our heart and mind into alignment. In other words, we are using the action of speaking or confessing to one another to agree with what is in our heart. Faith in action.

Haven't we all felt as young adults that we were to do something that nobody else can do? Where does this come from? Is there a life for us that isn't restricted by time and space? Has someone lived this life before us?

Do you feel driven by the demands of job, family and friends? What can release you from this drudgery of life? We always wanted to be different from everyone else but don't know how to do this. Is there a power that will give us freedom?

Our consciences were given to us for a reason. Either we can respond to what they are saying to us or not. If we don't respond to it, we have to accept the consequences of that action. When we do respond, this is faith.

Ernest O'Neill was ordained as a Methodist minister in 1960, but still struggled with inward sin like anger, envy and selfishness. Through honest seeking and obedience to God, he received a clean heart from the Holy Spirit.

We feel we're an independent person, but we often behave like robots - reacting to people or circumstances when they upset our equilibrium. Years of living this way have made us feel empty. We know there's more to life than that, remembering the wonder

Do you believe there is a God? That the Bible is reliable history? And the historical evidence points to Jesus as the son of your Maker? Then you must believe that it's possible to contact him and find out from Him why you were created.

Where does stain come from? Can we be free from strain, worry and doing wrong? How?

Do you keep repeating over and over again actions you know are wrong--and you want to stop--but don't know how? There is an answer.

Why do we allow our emotions to control our lives? Can fear, sorrow, jealousy, frustration, resentment and hatred cause physical damage such as ulcers, heart palpitations and mental aberrations? Is there a cure?

Do you give thanks for everything? God does not cause the difficult things in our lives but He does allow them if they will work in us for our good. He asks us to trust Him enough to thank Him for all things.

Are there circumstances so bad we can't thank God? Why do we find it hard?

We cannot solve the problems in our lives until we admit that we are full of sin and need to be separated from it. That's why Jesus died. Our part is to deliberately bring before God the things that we know are wrong. He will do the rest.

Our unclean hearts result from operating independently of God. It leads to sin, guilt and frustration. How do we get rid of our besetting sins so we can enjoy the victorious life that God wants for us?

There are many Christians who share one thing in common with people who aren't Christians. They have a dirty heart. Ernest O'Neill shares clearly what a dirty heart looks like.

Be perfect to get into Heaven? No, but are we straight with God and dealing with the things he is making us aware of?

Every crookedness and perversion in your personality was borne by Jesus and destroyed, once for all.

The heart of Easter is Jesus' resurrection. Roman soldiers had a vested interest in proving Christ a liar on this issue, but they were not able to.

A lot of us get involved in good causes. It seems the right thing to do, especially if you want to follow God. Could it be that instead of furthering good causes, God wants you to get to know him and become more like him?

Recognition, approval and praise; are these what you hunger for others to give you?

Jesus says that your Creator is not caught off balance about the things in your life at this moment that you know are wrong.

To take communion, you don't need to do the right Christian things or believe the right things. What then do you need to take communion?

You have to examine the evidence of the claims that Jesus Christ rose from death on the grounds of its historicity. You cannot continue in fundamentalist blindness refusing to examine the evidence that is here for all to see.

Faith is only real to you if you exercise it. You can't think or analyze your way into it. You actually have to do it and then everything opens up to you.

You can't depend on the world for things or on people for your own sense of value without eventually becoming wrought by anxiety, because they don't come through for you. However there is a way to be delivered from self, fear, worry and anxiety.

Is there still some way in which you are depending on the world, people or circumstances? There may be some way in which you're still looking to something other than God for all that you need. The moment you stop doing that, deliverance comes.

Even when you're filled with the Holy Spirit, Satan is still able to inject a thought of evil or a thought of anger into your mind or your emotions. It is not sin until you embrace it to yourself and accept it with your will and entertain it.

Christianity translates you out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God's beloved Son. You're saved from anger and selfishness and envy and jealousy, and you beget love, joy, peace ,long suffering, gentleness and goodness.

How will you survive out there in this wild world? There is power and energy available that will enable you to live in freedom from the power of self -- and yet have victory in all areas of your life.

Is it possible to live a charmed life -- free from financial difficulties and problems in relationships? Living in active faith that God has already destroyed the world in His Son Jesus releases the power to make it a reality.

If you believe and have faith, God is able to change sickness, financial situations and material circumstances. When praying, you need to come to a place of real neutrality, find the desires of your heart, and then wait for God's timing.

Work only continues while there is a certain amount of unselfishness in it. Our work is not to gather temporary things around us. Our work is a glorious thing. God has given you certain talents and abilities to help bring His world into order.

The heart of the worry is always fear. If you are a worrier, your life is ruled by fear. God has already gone ahead of you. He has looked at every danger and has already neutralized it.

We all want to get direction in the problems we face. But do we really want God's will for the solution? If so, He can guide us -- if we have accept it in faith and then work it out in practical ways.

Victory comes when we stop regarding God as a terrifying tyrant. Confession and turning from our sins allows us to start treating God as our loving Father and our dearest friend. Getting to know Him through His word goes beyond positive thinking.

Can I believe that God has really forgiven me for my sins? He regards me as his own child and will continue to do so until I die. Now, it's my choice to stop sinning and believe what He has accomplished in Jesus.

Many of us are having troubles with our emotions, temper of in our business and personal lives. Can there complete deliverance? Troubles come when we don't really believe that we are not our own. Where did we truly begin?

Jesus defeated death and lives today by the Resurrection power--so can we live by this power when circumstances don't go smoothly or according to our plans. This power must be expressed and acted upon to become real in our personal lives.

God's power that raised Jesus from the dead is the same power within us to overcome difficulties.

You spend your weekdays working at your job & accomplishing good things. Which things, if any, will be important to you the moment after you die?

Are you evading God because you are unlike Him? God has already changed you in Jesus and treats you as His own son. He asks you to receive that, love him back and to begin to walk with Him day by day as His own dear child.

God has restored you to His favor AND to his image out of sheer love. Your new life is remade for you -- not by self effort. The Holy Spirit will make that real to you when you begin to believe it.

All that we as men and women can do for each other is point to God, and to Jesus. Only He can help us. The scriptures are God's gift to us but they will not bring us into salvation or eternal life. Only a personal relationship with Jesus can do that.

We are not made to live a 'Jekyll and Hyde' existence where we fight in ourselves between doing good or doing evil. We were made for purity and holiness. How can we experience this? By dying to our selfish desires through Jesus and living above sin.

The story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is used to describe what we all think is the normal Christian life. The Bible gives God's solution to our continual failure to live as a Christian.

There is an answer to every need you have and to every problem that you have in your life. It is the key to life.

God's encouragement strengthens our heart so that we know He will keep His word to us. We receive his promises knowing that he is going to back them up.

God's encouragement is a deep assurance we can have that God will act on our behalf to fulfill his own directives and promises.

Human hope looks at circumstances and thinks maybe its getting better! But divine hope looks away to God who keeps his word and acts on our behalf.

Faith is an absolute confidence that God has destroyed the powers in this world that are trying to destroy your life, that's it.

What is it that spoils most relationships? Your desire to make the other person what you think they should be. We demand that they be what we think they should be and we destroy close loving relationships. We need to learn how to not interfere.

We've all been changed in Jesus through his death but many of your family and friends don't know it yet. Be to them what God has been to us-- patient and encouraging.

Relationships go wrong when we attempt to make others what we think they should be. We won't extend to them the freedom to just be themselves.

We ruin relationships with family and friends when we criticize them or try and make them into what we want.

Our faith in God is not helped by physical means but rather hindered. The worse our situation gets the better chance we have of putting your complete faith in God. Be moved not by what you see, rather be confident that God is going to answer you indepe

Outwardly we appear to be respectable people, but inwardly we face a real struggle. We feel we should have tender loving hearts, at other times there seems to be a monster inside that we cannot control. Do I have to live with this my whole life?

There is only one man in history who's impact was so profound that the world from that point began recording time in BC and AD.

We think its our own cleverness that keeps us alive today and gives us the things we have, and keeps us from danger and harm. But if we're so clever, then why, deep inside, are we so afraid that we won't be able to keep it all together?

Many of us are good respectable people, we don't like to admit our failures. We are expert tryers, but we will never find rest until we look honestly at the places where we fail. Is it possible for us to throw away our defenses and find victory?

Discover how God has taken us, with all our built-in evil habits that we cannot control, our personality that is filled with vices that we cannot overcome. He has put that into Jesus, His Son and destroyed it there. We are no longer hopeless!

It doesn't matter what people think of you, or if you are successful or not. The whole purpose of your life is so that you and your Maker can do something together, so that He can live a unique life through you, different from everybody else.

Many of us waken up in the morning with an incomprehensible sense of oppression or darkness or doom. We don't know where it comes from, but we know it is there. What can we do to overcome this fear?

Do you waken in the morning with a sense of oppression and doom that you don't know where it comes from? There is a command of God that if obeyed will cut through this gloom and darkness and bring light.

The things that occur in your life to destroy your joy are allowed by God to get you to rejoice in God Himself and not in the outward circumstances. God tells us to rejoice because He knows things are in His control.

To rejoice and have no anxiety is a command in God's word. It counters our sin of worry which is a lack of trust in our Father God.

Worry and anxiety will paralyze you unless you take hold of God's remedy and practice it everyday.

If there is doubt in any area of your life, you can be assured the thing is wrong. Forsake the sin and commit yourself to walking in obedience to God, and he will give you a new heart with the ability to live an obedient life above sin.

Does God always heal? Does he always answer prayer? What if I pray and he doesn't come through? Did I not have enough faith? Do I need to know he is going to heal first before I pray? Do I need someone who knows what they are doing to pray instead?

We've been trying to manage our own lives. But are we succeeding? Are we satisfied? Will we ever be satisfied? Is there a better way? Were we made for this struggle? How were we really meant to live this life? Is there a plan we're missing?

We all know how a good dad feels about his son or daughter. There is a wiser and more loving father than any of our dads who wants us to know him and be his sons and daughters like we were to our dads. But we're so in ourselves we don't have a clue.

What is the most important thing to a real Father? You, yourself. Could God really think about you like that?

Are you just a better form of animal? Are you just another of billions of creatures on this earth? Could you be special and unique?

Sometimes we wonder what life is all about. Especially when things are going wrong we think, Why are we here at all? Everyday life can be pretty disappointing if there isn't some higher reason. This talk explains we were designed for love

Why doesn't God stop evil? Why would a good God allow men to kill and molest and destroy?

Is there anyone else like you? Are you just one more little being among the billions on this globe?

What is the difference between your outward life and the real you?

What is the one thing we need? What could satisfy like an infinite well of love?

Why doesn't this world satisfy? Why are even people who seem to have it all still dissatisfied?

Why aren't we happy and why isn't our work a joy? Could it be we've fallen our of love?

Why are we so dominated by what others think of us and by worry? Why are we unsure who we really are?

After all our trying to improve and make ourselves better has failed, there is only one way to be beat our old nature.

God gave us babies with their tiny fingers to show us what he is like and that we'd know we were made to enjoy him. But we got lost in his gifts and live trying to get from people and things what we need from him. So we empty and not fill the world.

Is getting what I need to survive the driving force in my life? Is making enough money to pay my bills the main thing? Do I do what I really want to do or say what I think or am I caged in by my fear of what others think? Who really runs my life?

Is there any way to know what death will be like? What is on the other side of death? Why do we fear death? Is there a death that is not dying? Is there a life here that defies death?

Our lives appear to be working right just as cars pulled by horses-no fuel in Britain during WWII-looked normal if you didn't see the horse. But just as the gears being turned by the wheels are abnormal so our lives driven by the world are inverted.

Why is sin a big deal? How can God love me or forgive me? Who gave you the strength to use his name abusively? Who is giving you strength to be unkind? Where does guilt come from? Does living free of sin mean striving and living in a strait jacket?

People who have died are suddenly free from concerns of what others think of them, whether the car should be repaired or traded, what the stock market is doing, what they will live on when they retire. Can we have that freedom and still be breathing?

Why should we be clean and pure inside? Is it a matter of trying harder? Are we living depending on the world or depending on God's Spirit? Why do we fall back into worry, irritability, anger, lust and envy when we try to live depending on God?

Why are so many talking Christian but with so little change in their life? Why all the scandals? Why do we end so disappointed when we try to be better? What is our gospel missing? Did we leave out the most important thing?

Are we like a young kid learning to drive, saying, I've got it, I've got it, while our dad is trying to explain there is a lot more where we haven't a clue? Has our dad got out of the car now? Can we even hear his direction now? Who runs our life now?

Is communion a chance to confess all the wrong we did? Is that the purpose every week or every month? Did Jesus' death do something more than that? Is there more to receive from him? Could we break free from the old person we have always been?

Do your emotions go up and down with your bank balance? What we look at runs our lives. But there is someone else we can look to who loves us more than anyone else. To God you are the dearest person he ever created.

God thinks of us as his dear children and friends. We are not meant to be furtive hiding from him. All the resources of Heaven are here for us.

There is something destructive in each of us that makes us want to destroy and tear apart things and hurt other people. That's what Jesus, the Saviour, died to destroy in us.

You are not meant to face life without the nature of Christ -- without the peach and gentleness of his nature inside you to meet the challenges you face every day.

We receive guidance for all areas of our life if we realize the Holy Spirit is a person, one who guides and imparts Jesus' truths and life to us.

Man's extremity is God's opportunity!

One gospel is to do our best and continue sinning and asking for forgiveness (Cheap Grace). The other (truer) gospel is to realize your self died in Jesus so you can obey God.

Be honest with Jesus, don't compromise. One of the final exhortations to the body as Pastor preaches one of his final sermons. The Bible and not a preacher or church is the final authority.

We continually under-interpret texts like Christ in you, or I in them. We fix the language to fit our idea that he means we need to be like him. But his life is miraculous and by trying we will never be like him. But if we let him he will live in us.

The truth of what God, in Jesus, has done for our lives is made real by faith. And the Bible says we are saved by faith -- but through grace. What does this all mean?

If Jesus did in fact die and rise from the dead did anyone observe it? Yes. The whole first century world. Are the details known rather than a vague rumor? Yes. If these things are true, then what significance does this reality have for your life?

It is important that our inner being is made pure by God. But it is also important that our outer life show that. Our idea that the Holy Spirit can bypass our quiet personality or our noisy personality is wrong. He must use our renewed personality

From our earliest years we've lived life with ourselves as the main reference point for everything we do or feel. And we run our lives based on what circumstances or people do or don't do to us. That's not the freedom we were meant to live in.

Our minds and emotions are part of our human capacities. As such they are limited and can be wasted so they are not available for God's spirit to express himself through us because we have exhausted their powers on our concerns

Do you feel sometimes your Christian life is going on a straight track you cannot change? Can you change your habits through your own power? If not, is there another power to bring release and newness to our minds and emotions?

Our minds and emotions are a little like a bike tire caught in a street-car track. They just react in the same way they always do even though now the Spirit of Jesus within wants to react in the new way. They need to be broken by providence.

Our old personality has grown used to responding to people the way they expect us to. But there are times Jesus' Spirit inside would have a different response that would help them but he can't because we keep to our people pleasing.

Are circumstances hindering you from God's blessing? God may be using them to show us our need for brokenness of soulish powers. These may hinder us in being a blessing to others. Be thankful for the circumstances and cling to Him for release.

Do you manage your life by your own mental or physical powers? Is there another power that will bring us freedom? The Holy Spirit in us works through us only by obedience.

Why is Jesus born of a virgin or unwed mother? Is it so He is not tainted with original sin? Or is it because He was born of the Holy Spirit and He can also be born in us and live again in us.

Do you feel you have to appease God? Is that even possible or is there another who has done that and all we have to do is live in Him - Jesus?

Why not covet or yearn for or desire what someone else has? Because God knows you perfectly. And he has provided exactly what you need at this time.

God will often allow things to come into our lives to stop us so that we stop side-stepping him and will instead, look to him for the fullness of what he wants to express in that moment.

The purpose of your life and mine is to know God -- to know he, himself. Not as a theologian -- about him-- but to know him in the same intimate way he knows each of us -- individually.

What do you do about amoral people? do you still do business with them? Did you realize that God has not called us to save society but to evangelize the world?

Faith is knowing that all the things people do to make life difficult have been crucified with Christ. The power to affect your life has been neutralized. Thanksgiving is offered up to God because we know he loves and cares for us.

Have you ever thought your life is God's second best? That the life you're now living is no the highest he has for you? Do you still think of an ideal way you would have liked your life to go?

Feelings don't follow consecration. The witness of the Holy Spirit follows with a certainty it has been done, regardless of circumstances and emotions. A great peace and rest comes before the fruit of the Spirit.

The basic mark of a Christian is not simply a mental belief. It is a personal gratitude to Jesus for the death he died for you personally.

Do you find yourself continuing to do something, to engage in some mental, or physical, or emotional habit that you're not sure about? That you're not sure if this is right or wrong? There is a way to remove all doubt that brings peace to your heart.

God through common grace does many things; the rain falls, my eyes blink, I breathe. But he will not reproduce the life of Jesus through me without my active, willing participation and choice.

Reality is something God has done to us in Jesus from before time. Just as it is absurd to watch a movie and start fearing and crying out as though it were reality, so is it foolish to regard as reality our old nature that has been done away in Jesus

What do we want to do with our life? The whole world's mine, I can do whatever I want. Can't I? Isn't it true that I am not on my own? Do I have life in myself? If not, where do I find life?

Many of us work hard to direct our careers but become slaves instead -- insecure and stressed out. Or we see work as a misery. Is there a way for us to enjoy our jobs and experience peace and fulfilment?

A carnal Christian is one who acknowledges God but who still controls their life. But God has a higher way -- one where He truly is Lord of every aspect of our lives. How can this exchange take place?

Why is our attempt to make real the words in Colossians 3:3 always so feeble and frustrating? Is it just mind over matter? Reality comes with a step into the open, into the freedom of definite decision and action, of taking leave of ourselves.

Our personal relationship with Jesus brings a responsibility. Either we do, say or think what He tells us or we don't. Our trust in him must be consistent and constant.

You were not made to leave the world a better place than you found it. You were not made to glorify God. You were not made to try to live like Jesus. You were made for one purpose.

Jesus was with God before the world was created. He was the first born of all creation -- he was the very first born human being. He has a plan for his life to be expressed through you. Now how is this all possible?

Can we live life alone in our own strength and power? Do we keep trying to get some relief or fail again to do the right thing? Do you need help? Where does it come from?

Is a defeated life a life that wins? Is victory over sin possible?

A believer's experience starts when Jesus comes into their lives and they begin a life of faith. Then there arises a need for more of God. The baptism of the Holy Spirit or being sealed with the Holy Spirit describe God's dwelling with man in his heart.

When God decided to become a man in Jesus he committed himself to man forever. It wasn't just an experiment. He put himself at risk. He lets us do to him whatever we want without stopping us or punishing us in hopes that we will stop and turn to him.

Your destiny is for Christ to live in your place. The early church introduced giving Christian names because that is the name Christ would be known by in you. It is not our attempt to imitate him or but us squaring with our demise and his living.

Our lives are very easy compared to what men and women who lived before us have endured. God's son has given himself for us and only one sacrifice on our part is appropriate for that.

Before anything existed God determined to be gracious to us people in his son. We are part of his son and he wants to live uniquely in each of us. So we have something to do that is not some human plan or pressure but Jesus unique in us.

Our human love is always based on a kind of bargain. We find it difficult to conceive that God loves us without even asking for our love in return. Only when we see Gods free love not demanding ours back any can we love as He does.

Our weaknesses, failings, rebellion and pride have all been destroyed in Jesus death. When we look at them and get depressed it is because we are looking at nothingness. What has been destroyed in Jesus only shows up so we can choose life or death.

Are you living in peace and harmony with yourself? Do you find two minds battling inside for dominance? Can Jesus' birth and maturity in us bring us peace?

God seems to have called us at Christian Corps away from the religious people of the church and to none religious, such as our customers, with the truth.

We may well have a good understanding of the situation and be well able to tell the other person what he ought to do, and so did the disciples and religious man know how Jesus should handle the prostitute, but we miss God's heart.

Do you feel you were made for a purpose? How can you achieve that? What does it mean to be a child of God?

God knew each of us and knew the mess we would make of our lives before anything was created. He was not caught off guard by our failures and sin. He resolved all in his son before time so that we could now choose his new life
